FOOD VENDING
When most people think of vending machines they always assume there will be chips and chocolate bars and not much else. As far as we’re concerned, that’s pretty limited. You need to provide some food variety! We can help you vend healthier products, light meals, even fresh sandwiches, wraps, and subs. Desert-type options such as muffins, yogurt and Danish pastries are all potential possibilities as well.
Healthy Vending Products
Fresh products are definitely tasty but since they also have the drawback of a shorter shelf life we like to suggest companies with higher turnover take on this challenge. Otherwise, if fresh food isn’t sold, we end up having to throw it out.
As there are 100’s of different machines, the initial challenge is to try and match the correct vending machine for each location. Our staff has loads of experience and can be very helpful at suggesting the best machine for your location. We have machines that carry different quantities of snacks, fresh machines or light meals. If the capacity of the machine does not match your needs, you can be left with expired products if the machine is too big, and if the vending machine is too small for your location you won’t find enough selection and the products might even run out!
Advantages to having a vending machine on site:
You don’t waste time going out to get that food item you or your employee is craving.
In cases when it’s necessary to drive to satisfy that food craving, if you have a machine on site, you can save on vehicle fuel and maintenance costs.
It’s also a benefit for the environment…
And on days when you forget your lunch or your breakfast it can be a godsend to have something on site.
It is very important that you select the correct vending machines for your needs.
Questions to ask before placing a machine:
1. How much space can you commit for a vending machine?
2. How much space do you have for a machine (Are there stairs?)
3. What types of products would you like to offer your staff?
4. Do you want a mix including healthy products?
5. Would you like all brands of products? (Or are there some brands you don’t want?)
6. Is your staffing level the same year round? (Or do you double your numbers at Christmas?)
7. Whatever vending company you select, ensure that they have a track record of servicing and maintaining their machines and make sure they will do this for the long term. (Note that there are companies/persons that will tell you or promise you anything just to get your location because their goal is to quickly turn around and sell your location, so they never had any intention of living up to the promises given.)
8. Would you like a commission on gross sales? Watch any commission paid on gross or net profit because it is generally a higher commission rate but it is unfortunate but there seems to be very low gross/net profit when it comes to paying commissions.
9. When are your machines required?
10. What are your hours of operation? When would we be able to come in and service the machines each week? (Note: this is the biggest cost to us, the operator. Servicing the machines requires a service technician plus a vehicle plus time on a weekly basis. )
